Visibility / Location:

Shock House is located on 4th Avenue inside the QCCA Expo Center. They had a large sign outside the front, but no other lights to draw attention to the building.

Wait Entertainment:

We purchased tickets right inside the door and then were directed into a large open room. One person from each group checked their group into the waiting line via tablets. There was no formal line, instead guests were able to wander about the room and play various games, including Jenga, Connect Four, Air Hockey and Bags. Some were pay to play and other games were free. There was also a concession stand available to purchase drinks or snacks and indoor restrooms available to use. We received a text when it was our turn to enter the haunt.

Since people move through haunted attractions at different rates, your time will vary. LPR Score = 2.941

LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. Scare Factor:

Crowd Control:

Shock House wasn't busy on the night that I went through. I encountered no issues running into other groups. We were able to move at our own pace and only had one group catch up with us right before the end.

Before entering, an actor provided everyone in the group with 3D glasses to use for the first portion of the haunt. I put these on and headed inside. The first room was very large and featured an actress whose costume really popped with the 3D glasses. She directed my group into the second room.

The first portion of Shock House had a 3D theme. The 3D paint was very well done; the wall of skulls in particular really popped off of the walls. I went through a vortex tunnel with 3D paint spinning around me which got me dizzy. I would have liked to see a waste can at the end of this section to prevent 3D glasses from littering the floor during the remainder of the haunt. An air cannon nearly blasted mine out of my hands at one point.

There were a few times where our group wandered through the darkness, hardly able to see what was in front of us. At one point, lights turned on above and a train horn went off, which made every member of my group jump. Another time, a cut out in the wall dropped down and an actor appeared from nowhere. This haunt strategically placed their air cannons as well.

Shock House was filled with jump scares. Fog horns, air cannons and all other types of noises kept me on my toes. The actors had great costumes and stayed in character the entire time. I would consider this haunt to be under-valued. I also would have liked to have seen a merchandise area.
