Visibility / Location:
This event is located in the center of a busy shopping center off the main intersection. I did not see signs at the road but could see spotlights at the back of the parking lot once I turned in (look for the Indian restaurant). On busy weekend evenings parking could be limited. Definitely use a GPS if you're not familiar with the area.
Guests are separated into two roped off lines (VIP and general admission), and entertained by a DJ playing metal and rock, a light show with pyrotechnics, large animatronics, photo ops, and energetic costumed actors (sliders, chainsaw men, and silent stalkers while I was there). There is also a trailer selling snack concessions and merchandise.
General admission $35, VIP $50. Buy tickets online in advance for a discount and more package options. Online purchases are recommended due to limited space.
Time spent waiting in line: 20 min (VIP, there 15 min before open)
Time spent in the rules room: 2.5 min
General event length: 12.5 min
Since people move through haunted attractions at different rates, your time will vary. Note: The time shown here represents the actual time spent moving forward through the attraction. Time spent waiting in queue lines, staging areas, intro scenes, rules rooms and when traffic jams cause patrons to come to a halt, has been subtracted.
LPR Score = 1.071
LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. Actual quality and/or entertainment value of an event are not factors in this calculation. Click Here to see how this event compares to others visited this year by the staff of HauntedIllinois.com.
Groups of no larger than 6 were released into the haunt every five to seven minutes. As I was by myself, and the second to be let in for the evening, I was a free range guest (alone, unincumbered by others to hinder my pace), which provided a great opportunity to really enjoy the details. I did eventually catch up with the couple in front of me, but overall the pace was smooth, and a straight shot all the way through (no staging areas or wait rooms).
This was my first visit to Disturbia, but I had heard good things, and enjoy the producers other major haunt (Basement of the Dead), so my expectations were high and I was not disappointed. The bar was set from the start, in the rules room, with a fantastic (and gigantic) animatronic gate keeper. From there followed a maze of awesomely crafted horror scenes and corridors, accented with expert lighting, ambient sound, and a LOT of incredible animatronics (the most I've seen in any other haunt). There wasn't an obvious theme to the haunt that I could place, aside from possibly a journey through the horrors of the human imagination (hence the haunt's name), but the execution was still very effective. I expected more actual actors than I encountered, though the staff certainly weren't lacking in any form, and were all expertly costumed and in character. Kudos to the one Pig Man who managed to jumpscare me in the Acid Room (NOT an easy feat). Not recommended for those with sensitivities to strobes or flashing lights. Good for ages 12+
