Visibility / Location:
Google Maps takes you directly to the location. There's an ambulance and large skeleton at the entrance. The area is an industrial park and may look like you're in the wrong area so a lighted sign on the intersection of Wabash and Swan would be helpful for first time visitors.
There is a large roped off outside waiting area.
$23.00 includes entry into Raven's Curse and the Murder Maze
Since people move through haunted attractions at different rates, your time will vary. Note: The time shown here represents the actual time spent moving forward through the attraction. Time spent waiting in queue lines, staging areas, intro scenes, rules rooms and when traffic jams cause patrons to come to a halt, has been subtracted.
LPR Score = 2.347
LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. Actual quality and/or entertainment value of an event are not factors in this calculation. Click Here to see how this event compares to others visited this year by the staff of HauntedIllinois.com.
The staff did great to keep the groups spaced out so no one ran into each other.
You walk in to a large industrial building and go into a small room with 3 life-sized bodies dressed as ravens. The lights are dim and you are listening to the Legend of Raven's Curse over a speaker. If you're brave enough to enter, you will head out to some of the coolest animatronic scenes.
Before entering the building, the haunt owner's father takes the tickets and told us that his son builds all the animatronics from scratch. As you walk through all the scenes and take it all in, we thought that the time and care it took into making these creatures is very impressive. Since there is so much to see, make sure you take time to really look around and watch the scenes.
One of the first rooms you enter is a tilted room and it can really throw you off balance. There are a lot of cool digital scenes that spray air or mist as you go by, making you believe you're covered in blood splatter. Raven's Curse has a great mix of human actors and animatronics to please everyone's horror tastes.
One of my favorite scenes was walking into a kitchen and a guy dressed as a surgeon had a female body laid out that looked so real. You'll never believe what he does to her! Another scene has a huge man dressed as a butcher come out saying he's going to eat you. His size is very intimidating, making you want to run away. They have a huge mole head that flies out of a dark room just as you walk by and a short time later, a huge ram head does the same.
When you go through, definitely take the time to appreciate all the details of each scene and the animatronic creatures that were handmade. Since it was opening weekend, we got to go thru twice and were able to see so many cool things we missed the first time. I would've went thru a third time if they let me! This is a must-see haunt that gets bigger and better every year!
After exiting the haunted house, you walk over to a Murder Maze. It's dark so they give you a glow stick to guide your way. There weren't a whole lot of characters in the maze. It was an air-blown maze and we actually made it through in less than five minutes.
This year they had some games to play near the Terror on the Big Screen. They had ring toss and bean bag toss games for a chance to win a shirt.
Thank you to Raven's Curse for a great time!
