Visibility / Location:
Google Maps takes you directly to the location but the last turn it tells you to take is blocked off for parking so you have to go down a block. Where you need to turn in could use a sign or some lights or it may get a little confusing for first time visitors. There is a large school bus a sign for the haunt, making it easy to see from the road. They have a small grassy area for parking right across the street.
There weren't any other patrons waiting when we first arrived. We weren't actually sure where to enter the haunt and there wasn't anyone standing outside to guide us or a sign to point you in the right direction. The waiting area is indoors and an older man is dressed up as a crazed and bloodied Ice cream man. The waiting area is well decorated with horror dîcor and rock music played.
$15 (included a mini escape room)
Draven's Curse Escape Room: 5 minutes
Haunted house: 8 minutes
Since people move through haunted attractions at different rates, your time will vary. Note: The time shown here represents the actual time spent moving forward through the attraction. Time spent waiting in queue lines, staging areas, intro scenes, rules rooms and when traffic jams cause patrons to come to a halt, has been subtracted.
LPR Score = 3.813
LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. Actual quality and/or entertainment value of an event are not factors in this calculation. Click Here to see how this event compares to others visited this year by the staff of HauntedIllinois.com.
When we first arrived, there weren't any patrons waiting but there were some in the escape room. A couple of people came up and got in line just before we entered the escape room. While going through the haunted house, we never ran into anyone and never heard anyone. The mini escape room took 5 minutes so the group ahead had plenty of time to get far enough that we never saw them. We were able to go at our own pace.
New this year is their mini escape room. They called it Draven's Curse. You had a 5-minute time limit to find the clues and escape. I liked this one a lot better than other escape rooms. There was a lady in there letting us know how much time we had left. We didn't escape in the five minutes.
This haunt does a great with their constant action, fluorescent lights and body part props! The characters were phenomenal. Beefy Mad Molly just wants to be pretty while Mary wants to show you her favorite doll and then make you into one so you can play with her forever! The large chainsaw wielding panda was awesome and very well hidden! I never thought cute cuddly teddy bears could be creepy until I turned a corner and walked down a hallway slathered with them. Between the bungee corded hallway, spinning fluorescent tube and the waterbed-like padded room, we definitely gave our balance and senses a work out! They had some pretty cool props like the spinning heads in the cotton candy and popcorn machines. Clowns. Lots of clowns!
217 Terror does a frightening great job for a small-town haunt. After last year, I was really looking forward to this year and they didn't disappoint! I really like the old-school jump scares and they do a great job of it.
