Visibility / Location:
Raven's Curse Haunted House is located in an industrial park. I was impressed that they had actual red highway signs leading to their location as we got closer. They had a spotlight on their personalized ambulance and a large skeleton near the road. There was a large sign for parking across the street, but I think we grabbed the last parking spot there. It did look like there may have been more parking spots in a lot adjacent to the event, but I don't recall seeing a sign for that lot.
We had VIP tickets, so our wait time was pretty brief. I did not see any actors near the line, but we may have totally missed them in our short time there.
$18.00 for Raven's Curse,
$7.00 for Slaughter on the Midway,

There is a $2.40 fee per ticket online, and a $5.00 upcharge for VIP passes.
Raven's Curse: 13 Minutes
Slaughter on the Midway: 5 Minutes

Time spent waiting in queue lines, staging areas, intro scenes, rules rooms and when traffic jams cause patrons to come to a halt, has been subtracted.

We did not run into any groups inside of Raven's Curse, but a group came very close to running into us. It was probably a combination of us being entranced by the beauty of the scenes, and the group behind us being scared and running through. My friend and I picked up the pace every time we heard them get closer in an effort to give actors enough time to reset for the next group.
Upon entry to Raven's Curse, we immediately recognized the stunning scenery that this show is known for. We were in a circular room wherein ominous raven characters were blocking all three doorways out. The ravens stayed completely still while the storyline was told over some ceremonial chanting and creepy sound effects. There were vines growing up stone walls that had ancient symbols carved into them, and the vines were grown so tall that they were actually a canopy over us. After the tension of wondering if any of the ravens blocking the doors would move, we were shown the doorway to take and we found a large façade of a house with flickering exterior lights and a front porch. We reluctantly walked along the porch and finally into the house, where we discovered a hauntingly beautiful parlor area. We made our way through multiple rooms of this ornately decorated home; such as a living room with a nice twist to it, a laundry room that was inundated with articles of clothing, and a grungy bathroom. Even the hallways conjoining these rooms were intricately detailed, and the hiding spots therein were hidden perfectly in plain sight.
Some scenes that particularly stood out to me possessed traits that I had never seen before. We walked through a kitchen scene where a dead body was laid out on the dining table. A crazed resident of the house told us to stay for dinner while he smashed the body's head in with a sledgehammer. The head actually collapsed and we felt the remnants splatter us in the face as we walked by. In a bedroom, we found a large wooden framed bed that seemed to be levitating and shaking, and as if that wasn't impressive enough, a monster was hiding in a place that is not traditional in haunted bedroom scenes. There was also an eerie attic scene that came to life as we walked through it.
The haunted house portion of this event was very impressive. The scenes were incredibly intricate and visually appealing. There were spaces built into the house that seemed to be perfect hiding places for actors, and it seemed there were unseen passageways that allowed them to follow us, as well. There seemed to be a shortage of actors on the night that we visited, but the actors that were present made effective use of their space and appeared as many times as they could. Everyone's costumes were complete and worked within their space. The special effects inside of this attraction are some of the best that I have even seen, and there are a lot of them to see. Even with the shortage of actors, I was on edge while walking through the house.
When we found the exit of the haunted house portion of our tour, we walked outside and came upon a short line for the Slaughter on the Midway portion of our visit. We were led back behind the building to where a funhouse was set up outdoors. My friend and I waited a few minutes for our turn, and we were allowed access as a group of two. We passed through corridors that made us feel like we were visiting a circus. We walked through a couple of carnival games underneath a large lit marquee. We passed by some empty cages and we took on a large inflatable maze that had dead ends and an actress that was toying with us on the way through. While it was a short walk through the funhouse, it was enjoyable. Again, there seemed to be a lack of actors, but the actors that were present did a good job.
Overall, my visit to Raven's Curse Haunted House was an enjoyable one. I loved seeing all of the detailed scenes and high-tech special effects. While they definitely could have used more actors in their massive space, in a twisted way, I am a little bit pleased that I was able to observe all of the macabre beauty inside without being distracted by more scares.
