Visibility / Location:
Google Maps takes you directly to the haunt site. It sits right off the highway. There is a big school bus, hearse and flashing lights to show you the way in. Plenty of parking.
There were characters walking around scaring people standing in line. There was a man with a mask holding a teddy bear that was pretty creepy. Michael Myers was also walking around. Next to the wait line was the "Last Ride" experience. It was a simulated coffin ride. There was a small camera inside the coffin, showing on a TV screen for people in line to watch.
The Last Ride Coffin Ride was an additional $5.00
Since people move through haunted attractions at different rates, your time will vary. Note: The time shown here represents the actual time spent moving forward through the attraction. Time spent waiting in queue lines, staging areas, intro scenes, rules rooms and when traffic jams cause patrons to come to a halt, has been subtracted.
LPR Score = 3.512
LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. Actual quality and/or entertainment value of an event are not factors in this calculation. Click Here to see how this event compares to others visited this year by the staff of HauntedIllinois.com.
The staff at R Acres of Terror did a great job keeping the groups spaced out. We never ran into the group ahead, nor were caught up to by the group behind us.
This haunt gets better every year. The walkway through the woods is always guided with rope and some tiki torches. The actors were hidden so well in the woods, we never saw some of the jump scares coming. The girls in the kid's play room were super creepy. There was a cannibal camp and a man chasing you yelling at you to stay away from his moonshine. The 3D clowns were amazing, they definitely have you coming out with a nervous laugh!
There weren't any actors around the bridges we crossed over, which could've really made for some good jump scares. If you give the staff a name of someone in your group, the actors will happily bellow out their name throughout the haunt.
The giant hog head is my absolute favorite! This year, it had much better placement and was definitely the highlight of the whole attraction. Everyone in my group kept talking about it!
I hope they keep up the great work and continue to make it better every year! This one is definitely becoming one of the best in the area and is one you should not miss!
