Visibility / Location:
Google Maps takes you right to Night Terrors. It's located inside the Village Square Mall so there is plenty of parking. I didn't see a sign/banner outside showing that the haunt was inside, like past years.
They had a couple TV's set up showing random pictures of the actors and some loud music which masked the sounds of the screams from inside the haunt. But once you got close to the haunt entrance, you could definitely hear banging and screaming. There was a smell in the air and fog, which really added to the creep factor. They had some creepy decorations along one wall, but it was too dark to really see what was all there.
There were a couple actors walking around to take pictures with. There was also a girl walking around with her "cat," she was pretty creepy! While we waited, we saw several teenagers come out crying, so we knew it was going to be good!
Since people move through haunted attractions at different rates, your time will vary. Note: The time shown here represents the actual time spent moving forward through the attraction. Time spent waiting in queue lines, staging areas, intro scenes, rules rooms and when traffic jams cause patrons to come to a halt, has been subtracted.
LPR Score = 3.033
LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. Actual quality and/or entertainment value of an event are not factors in this calculation. Click Here to see how this event compares to others visited this year by the staff of HauntedIllinois.com.
We never ran into any other crowds, the staff did a great job!
Night Terrors REALLY stepped up their game this year. Between the cool animatronics, the smells, the moving floors, strobe lights and the amazing actors, you really get your money's worth.
Before you enter the haunt, you have to read the rules on a monitor. For the most part, the haunt is dark but there's enough light that you can still see where you're going. There are a couple areas that are almost blacked out but they aren't very long. There are a lot of awesome jump scares and some really cool moving floors!
There are some 55 gallon drums and a deep freezer that move on their own. Sparks were flying in one area, a creepy dentist trying to pull patron's teeth and some actors had water misters that were freaky! My favorite was the lady in the scene with the grand piano, she followed me and sprayed me with mist and told me I was nasty! It was awesome!
They have a clown maze that we always get lost in. I think we made the same circle at least six times! There is a creepy voodoo woman towards the end and her scene smells like cologne. To get out of the haunt, you have to crawl out or else the chainsaw wielding psycho will get you!
This was definitely my favorite of the season. I've been to this one a couple times prior and every year they get better, definitely makes me excited for what they have in store for next year. Don't judge this haunt by the mall it's housed in, it is well worth the visit!
