2018 Factory Of Fear Review

Factory Of Fear
5027 4th Ave
Moline, IL 61265

Visibility / Location:

I have been to Factory of Fear many times so I knew exactly where to go. It was right on a main road in Moline and there was also a sign that showed the entrance. The entire attraction was lit up so someone that hasn't been there before would have no trouble finding the attraction.

There was plenty of available parking just feet from the entrance to the haunt so it only took us a minute or two to get from our car to the ticket booth.

Wait Entertainment:

We got to the haunted attraction quite early in the night so there was not a long line. There was rock music playing in the line and an actor that was walking around scaring people. Every group also had their photo taken right before going in the haunt which I thought was a nice touch. I was able to go onto Factory of Fear's Facebook page and find the photo that was taken of my group.

Event Length:

14 Minutes

Since people move through haunted attractions at different rates, your time will vary. Note: The time shown here represents the actual time spent moving forward through the attraction. Time spent waiting in queue lines, staging areas, intro scenes, rules rooms and when traffic jams cause patrons to come to a halt, has been subtracted.

LPR Score = 3.267

Scare Factor:

Crowd Control:

Groups were spaced out perfectly. We never ran into the group in front of us and the group behind us never ran into us.

When I arrived at Factory of Fear, I purchased my ticket at the booth, got a wristband, and got into line. There were only about 2 groups in front of me so the wait time was not long at all. Someone took a photo of my group and then it was my turn to enter the haunt.

The first room I entered was themed like a creepy monastery. There was a very scary looking nun that followed me around and the music that played in the background set the mood even more. Everything in this area was very detailed and well put-together.

The next area that I saw was redneck themed. One of the monsters called himself Cletus and he was pretty funny. There was also an area in this haunt that was themed like a crazy cat lady's house. As we walked through it we could hear cats meowing and crying. I thought this was something unique that I had never seen before at a haunted house.

I walked through a few rooms that had nothing in them other than a mattress on the floor. I thought these rooms could have been utilized better, maybe with some actors or just more details put in place.

I then walked into what was a haunted hospital area, with nurses and patients. This area did a good job of scaring me and I think I even screamed a few times from the jump scares! I had my 7 year old nephew with me and some of the actors in this area gave him a sucker which he loved!

I went through a few more rooms and then it got to the end. My only complaint was that it ended very abruptly and I was somewhat confused as to if this was another area of the haunt or if it was over. It would be nice if there was some sort of transition so the haunt doesn't just end so quickly.

Overall, I thought that Factory of Fear did a great job at making a good haunt this year. The actors were doing a great job of being creepy and scaring me. They had a nice mixture of jump scares and areas with no jump scares. The characters costumes and makeup were all done very well and I could tell that everyone was excited to be there scaring us!
