Visibility / Location:
The location is on the South side of Rollins Rd. There is ample signage for the show, although it does come up pretty quickly. There are not any signs that explicitly said "Realm Of Terror" at the street, but rather signs that say "Haunted House". Once on the property we did see a large amount of signage for the actual event.
The haunt is located on the property for Kristof's Entertainment Center for easier reference.
There is ample parking at this location, however we recommend going earlier in the evening as it may become more limited on busy nights. The bulk of the parking available is along the west side of the building and they do have people directing traffic in the lot.
There were at least 3 to 4 different costumed actors wandering the queue lines.
Also, there is a cash bar on site if you would like a drink (21+) while waiting in in line.
Tickets range from $25 to $45 depending on what is selected, check around online for promotions like Groupon early in the season.
LPR Score = 2.088
LPR stands for Length/Price Ratio. It represents perceived value of an event, by comparing length vs price of admission. Higher numbers represent more value per dollar. We went early on a Sunday evening and did experience some time in line. The show staff did an excellent job controlling traffic and even worked to slow down groups while in the house to prevent us from running into them.
There was only one instance where we saw another group, however an actor was quick to slow us and maintain spacing.
The story for this show is built on a basis of the "Family" taking residence in this place where you have been invited in based on your sacrificial contribution into the house. You will see the remains of the prior guest strewn throughout and will meet the "Family"
In the opening scene you are greeted with a video explaining the story of the show along with being met with a rapid "Baptism" of sorts. After the rapid "Baptism" you are greeted by a deranged preacher who draws you into the show and story more. You will be questioned and soon invited to enter into the house. The actor in this scene does a great job to draw the participants into the scene and do traffic control of the groups going into the house.
After entering the show we saw several different scenes that ranged from hanging bodies to chunks of bodies strewn throughout the various scenes. There were a lot of Medical and more industrial feeling scenes in many places, not to ruin specifics. Be aware that there is a lot of bending and ducking to maneuver around the rooms in this show. It can be a bit difficult to navigate, however they do a fantastic job of bringing their attendees out of their comfort zone.
Continuing through the show we were met with a large mix of scenes and some memorable experiences that were vomit inducing at times and did not leave a lot to the imagination in their gory details. Some of the sets are quite tight and you will be up close and personal with a lot of actors. There is a heavy emphasis on blood and gore in this show.
After making our way through the first half of the show we wandered through a small junkyard scene where we were greeted by other actors in and around abandoned cars. after exiting this part of the show we entered into the second major part of the attraction. This section was a long and very dark maze of sorts, there was only a slowly dimming strobe present to keep you on your toes when walking. Some of this section can be a bit difficult to navigate, however with the lighting and actors there is an opportunity for a lot of fantastic scares. I really enjoyed the lighting and atmosphere of this part of the show, it had just enough lighting to guide your path very briefly, however it was still quite disorienting at times when you were quickly brought into complete darkness.
Overall we really enjoyed ourselves at this show and I can fully understand why they have been so highly rated years in the past. It offers a dynamic and very high scare factor.
The sets were all well detailed and offered a good variety of scares.
Costuming and makeup were also done quite well, you can tell that some attention was taking to help move this outside typical haunt look and that is a big point in my book. Acting was on point throughout the show and I did not experience any instances where they blatantly broke character.
Based on my experiences so far this season, this show rates very highly and is possibly one of, if not the scariest that we have attended. I am curious to see how this show evolves over the years to come and to see how this show holds up against the others in my haunt tour this season.
