The Walking Ned
Visibility / Location:
The attraction is on Ravinia, which is a block west of La Grange Road. You turn from La Grange Road at 147th, and park in the parking lot north of the woods. I did not see a sign on La Grange indicating the haunted woods, but, once you get on Ravinia, there is a sign, hearse, and a fake entrance to take pictures with.
None, outside of the hearse and the area to take pictures.

They make sure one group goes in at a time, and you are led by a guide.
The Haunted Woods starts out in a small house where a robotic corpse in a coffin tells you the tale of how the Woods were created. You are next led down a path, which leads to a little church area. That leads in to a cemetery area, which you then go through a mausoleum, where ghosts and ghouls pop out at you from all sides. The same thing happened in the next area, which was an area with a pair of outhouses that had zombies popping out of unexpected places. After going through another section of woods, you get to a row of houses, with a few more suprises. After another zombie area of the woods, you hit another house area, then go over a bridge where there were several good places for people to jump out.
At this point, the guide leads you in to a true house, where the fun really begins. The first room has a fortune teller, who warns you not to go through the house. There is a good bar area in there where the bartender has several surprises for you. There is also a great funeral area where you don't know where the scares are going to coming from. You then go through a strobe area, which leads in to a mask room. The rest of the house becomes mostly a dark maze, with some good twists and turns, as well as some tight areas. There is a good butcher area towards the end that splashes you with "blood." Once you get out of the house, you go down a long path towards the parking lot, where there might be a few more surprises waiting in the woods.
Haunted woods is essentially an area of woods where they built some four wall houses with very little in terms of props and decorations, but that would be hard to do with the whole thing being outside, and susceptible to rain. All that being said, the jump scares as people walk through the woods is still pretty scary, and the dark maze they had at the end was really well done in terms of being claustrophobic, dark, and scary.
