2017 Nightmare at the Terrace Review

Nightmare at the Terrace
11500 S. Beloit
Worth, IL 60482

Reviewed By:

The Walking Ned

Visibility / Location:

Nightmare is on Beloit, several blocks west of Harlem. They had a big sign on Harlem, as well as a big sign outside their building.

Wait Entertainment:

There were three girls doing a ghost triplet thing, similar to the scary twins from The Shining, as well as another actor dressed like an evil scarecrow. The girls will follow you around, and even crowd your car when you are trying to leave, just standing there being creepy.

Crowd Control:

Smooth. They make sure one group goes in at a time, but it was also very rainy, so the crowd early on was small.

Nightmare at the Terrace starts out with a dark maze, which led in to a strobe light room, which then went in to a couple of rooms with clowns in them. That led in to another dark maze, which led to more clowns. That led to an area called the asylum, which had some rooms looking like an insane asylum, or a jail. This then led to another dark maze. This then led to what looked like an interior of a house for several rooms. That led in to another dark maze to find your way out of the house, with a couple of good surprises at the end.

Nightmare at the Terrace did not have a lot of props, the walls, which were black, mostly, did not have a lot more to them. Most of the rooms were built pretty open, so it doesn't have that claustrophobic feel that most houses have. This house seems to be built more for families in the area, as most of the actors are local kids, and they have several "lights on" days, to help bring in the kids. That being said, there were several surprises, some good pop outs by the kids that did scare me.
