2017 Midway Of Madness Haunted Attraction Review

Midway Of Madness Haunted Attraction
1302 N. Coler Ave.
Urbana, IL 61801

Visibility / Location:

There were lots of signs on the main roads showing you the way to the attraction and the attraction itself is lit up with carnival lights and a giant haunted School bus.

Wait Entertainment:

There were plenty of wait line actors walking up and down the lines scaring patrons. There was a concession stand and a food truck available as well. There wasn't any music but it made it easier to hear the guests screaming inside as they went from scare to scare.

Crowd Control:

Flow through this attraction was a bit stop and go at a few spots. Our group struggled to not run into the group ahead of us and they didn't seem to be very equipped to have us wait besides just telling us to hang on for a few minutes.

This clown-centric haunt was very theme driven. If you love Carn-Evil or scary Clowns, this is the haunt for you. From beginning to end this dark fun house of horrors brought my fear of clowns to a whole new level. There were funhouse mirrors with tormented clowns trapped inside, mimes that seemed to jump out of the walls, and even a chainsaw wielding clown that had us running in terror all the way out! The sets weren't movie quality but they were creative and unique. The actors had a fun goofy energy but didn't hold back on their scares. This is a haunt for older children to teenagers, with some intense scares but I saw a few nervous adults as well. The flow was a bit stop and go but I genuinely enjoyed how they stayed on theme through the entire haunt. It was a longer walk through and yet I never got bored with each unique clown inspired room. I very much enjoyed this haunt and would both recommend it and return again.
