The directions from Google Maps were very accurate getting us to Raven's Curse. We did miss the turn onto Swan Dr., where the haunt is located. It's in an industrial park area and it was pretty dark and there were no signs on the main road pointing where to go, which would've helped. In front of the ticket booth and just before the parking lot was an old ambulance with flashing green and white lights, stamped with the Raven's Curse logo. The ambulance window had a very cool and creepy digital effect making it seem as if someone was being violently attacked and trying to escape. There was plenty of parking right on the premises and even a small lot across the street. Some sort of signage (with lights) on the corner of Wabash and Swan would’ve helped tremendously, as the area is home to several factories. I expected to see some flashing lights or some sort of sign showing that there was a haunt in the area, we couldn't even see the lights on the ambulance until you turned down Swan Dr. (The website says Swan Ave. but the street sign says Drive. Side note- I was looking for a street sign that said "Swan Dr." But 'Dr.' was spelled out, so when I saw that there were two words on the street sign, I missed it... only because I was having trouble reading the street names as cars were coming toward me and was blinded by their lights.)
We came on opening night and were able to walk right up to the ticket booth and get in line pretty quick. They have quite a sizeable roped off area, anticipating large crowds. There were no groups waiting in front of us, so the only time we spent in line was waiting for everyone in our group to pay for their tickets. While you wait, there is an escape mental patient limping around in a straight-jacket offering free hugs. He was very convincing and creepy and had some people running from him. He was pretty good about popping out of nowhere and startling the people standing around. There's also an area called Terror on the Big Screen, showing episodes of Tales from the Crypt while you sit around fire pits. They were having some signal issues, so the show wasn't coming up right. But, it was also opening night and that's the time for them to get the glitches worked out.

Being opening night, there wasn't much of a crowd yet, which gave us plenty of time to go through the haunt and not run into any other groups ahead of us.
This is Raven's Curse's 2nd year of operation and they are doing a fantastic job with their state of the art animatronics and digital scenes. For opening weekend, they offered everyone a chance to go through the haunt a second time for free. We took advantage to go back and really pay attention to the details in the digital scenes. They are definitely worth the time to watch. One has a crazed woman trying to break the window out of a door with an axe and the door actually gets 'punctured' by the axe from the opposite side, we had to watch it a couple times because we almost couldn't believe our eyes! Another one shoots a mist of water, just as a patient is trying to escape and someone shoots him. I think we all came out of there thinking we had blood splatter on us! It was great! The animatronics are definitely scary and some are pretty sizeable. But with all the high-tech goodies, it made the human actors a little forgettable. The actors all did a wonderful job, but they were definitely shadowed. When we came out, there was a radio station, CIL-FM 101.5 doing a live broadcast and giving out some goodies. They were located in the gift shop. The gift shop has some pretty cool shirts and various swag for sale.
This is definitely a great must-see haunt, especially for those who like the high-tech scares. I think it's safe to say that the Raven's Curse will be around for many years to come and only get better every year.
