The Walking Ned
Visibility / Location:
Massacre is located in a strip mall near Montgomery and Douglas. There is a front and back to the haunt, but the front door is in back of the strip mall, and if you want to park there, you would have to enter off of Douglas Road.
There were several actors, with scary music, walking through the line entertaining people. My favorite was a male clown with a tutu carrying an axe.
FREE, and I would like to state again that there is parking both in the front and back of the haunt. What is considered the back entrance is actually the front door in the strip mall. The back parki

We ended up catching up to the group in front of us, which then had the group behind us catch up with us. I think it ended up making the house less scary than usual.
The beginning of the house starts out in a hospital area which was really well done, which then goes in to a spooky cemetery area. This then led in to a really great church setting, with a very evil person behind the pulpit. The church area continued in to a funeral setting, complete with weeping actors ready to pounce out at you.
You then go through the vinyl inflatable walls, which leads in to the house falling apart. The rooms start with the living room, going in to the dining room, kitchen, etc. The actors in these rooms were all ready to make sure you have a good time, and they do enjoy scaring the patrons. I have to point out the doll room was especially creepy, with one the creepiest doll actors I have ever seen.
This then led in to a factory area, complete with slatted wall maze. This went in to a jungle scene that I thought was great, there was a very good animatronic dinosaur ready to gobble you up. There were also some really good animatronic giant spiders that really creeped out some of the people in my group.
We then got to the Freakshow part. They gave us the 3-d glasses, and the area was painted up with fluorescent paint to give the illusion that the walls were alive. The whole area was set up like an evil fun house. If you don't like clowns, you will not enjoy this part of the house. There were clowns throughout the whole Freakshow area. This led in to the spinning room, with all the fluorescent paint making the room very disorienting.
This soon transitioned out of the freakshow area in to a prison area, with death row cells with people ready to pop out at you. We were then led in to a factory/warehouse area, complete with a very scary butcher shop area with a very creepy butcher, and an oil drum/toxic waste area. The mutants in this area were really scary.
Overall, I thought Massacre was good. The rooms were all well done, and the creepiness factor was high. I expected a few more scares in terms of pop outs, but I think catching up to the group in front of us made some of them diminish. I would still recommend this house to everyone.
