Take the Fright Fest 30 Hour Coffin Challenge
Would you be willing to spend 30 hours in a coffin?
Are you brave enough to last 30 hours inside a coffin? This could be your chance to find out! In late October, 2018, Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL is holding a contest to see who can go the distance. This concept is becoming wildly popular all across the country, as the Gurnee location is only one of 15 Six Flags parks that are hosting this type of event.
Because of the nature of the encounter, participants must be at least 18 years of age and must sign a waiver, prior to the event. Other requirements include being able to fit into a 2' x 7' coffin and you must bring your own bedding, including pillows & blankets, along with one non-electronic comfort item.
While being confined to a coffin will most likely not be very comfortable (especially for those who suffer from claustrophobia), Six Flags has done all they can to make the contest more "livable". They will be providing all of the meals and are allowing hourly restroom breaks for six minutes each. Charging stations will be provided, but participants will only be given access to their cell phones sporadically.
Anyone leaving their coffin outside of the designated break periods will be disqualified. Six Flags staff is counting on the creepy atmosphere of the park after business hours to make the entombed surrender.
The contest will span from October 20th, 2018 through the 21st. Those who last the allotted time have a chance to take home Six Flags season tickets, $300 cash and other prizes. Only six contestants will be chosen from the entire pool of applicants, based on the answers submitted in their online registration forms. Those chosen for this challenge will be notified on October 11th, 2018 and must accept by the 13th.
