Visibility / Location:
Google Maps were accurate in the directions to the Chittyville Hauntings. There were also several signs on the way to the haunt. On-site parking.
There were a couple of clowns running around scaring several people. They were very entertaining. There was no music playing at all, which would've really helped the experience.

The School: Low-Medium
The Lair: Low
The School: They had a timer spacing groups but we could easily hear the groups in front and behind us. Part way through, one of the characters was sitting on the floor making us wait for a bit because she said they were sending people in too fast.
The Lair: They had a timer spacing groups out about a minute and a half, but the group behind caught up to us and actually passed us.
The Chittyville School has a great back story, so if you plan to visit, I would take the time to go to their website and check it out. Again, the scares were pretty sporadic in the school, which made it a bit boring. There wasn't a lot of interaction with the characters, some were just standing around and chatting with the others and not really focused on what they were supposed to be doing. The temperature of the building was drastically changing from hot to cool. The hot areas were hot enough that we were all uncomfortable and sweaty, which made us want to get out faster. There were a lot of uneven floors, which was interesting and I really enjoyed. There was a sizeable area covered with mattresses that made it strenuous to get through, probably a little too much. The haunt is probably one of the longest ones I've been on. I always feel that some haunts should be longer than what they are, but not this one. There was a lot of down time and just walking around static props and more action as well as more interactive characters would've really made this a great haunt. The basement area was pretty creepy to walk around. The younger characters in this haunt were definitely the stars, they did a great job of scaring people. This would be another good one for small children, just remember to dress down because you'll be going through a lot more hot areas than cooler ones, plus you will be doing more walking, including up and down ramps/stairs, than most haunted houses.
This would be a great haunt for families with small kids. The Lair is outside next to the school on a dimly lit trail. At times it was hard to see where you were walking, but it is roped off, which helped. The scares walking the trail were very sporadic and there seemed to be a lot of times that absolutely nothing was going on and it got a bit boring. Some of the characters were so far away from us, that jumping out at us wasn't startling at all. There were a couple of good props, but the overall lack of scares, really didn't make them memorable. This would be a great haunt for families with small kids, but I wouldn't recommend it to adults that are really looking to be scared.
